Appointment: Humanities Data Librarian

The University Libraries is pleased to announce the appointment of Rolando Rodriguez as Humanities Data Librarian, effective June 12, 2023.

In this new role, Rodriguez will support faculty and students using data science methods in the humanities and social sciences. As part of this work, he will guide the selection and development of resources to aid scholarly research and instruction, including in the strategic area of text and data mining. Rodriguez will also be a contact point for the University Libraries’ digital humanities efforts, collaborating with digital humanities groups across campus.

Rodriguez was previously a Carolina Academic Library Associate, working with both Digital Research Services and Research and Instructional Services at the University Libraries. He holds a Master of Science in Information Science from UNC-Chapel Hill, a Master of Arts in Religion from Yale Divinity School, and a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical and Theological Studies from Bethel University.
