Brianna McGruder
The University Libraries is pleased to announce the appointment of Brianna McGruder as Community-Driven Archives Program Manager, effective June 5, 2023.
In this new position, McGruder will advance the community-driven archives activities of the Southern Historical Collection (SHC) at the Wilson Special Collections Library. She will play a leading role in the SHC’s historic partnership with the Southern Oral History Program and build on the community-driven approaches explored via the Community-Driven Archives project. McGruder will also develop exhibits and events and participate in reference and instruction activities.
McGruder was previously a Carolina Academic Library Associate at UNC-Chapel Hill’s Wilson Special Collections Library and Behind the Veil Outreach Intern at Duke University’s John Hope Franklin Research Center for African & African American Studies. She holds a Master of Science in Library Science from UNC-Chapel Hill and a B.A. in English from UNC-Charlotte.
