Join the Libraries on Monday, April 8, for this special celestial event! From 1 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., we’ll be in front of Wilson Special Collections Library with a button maker, a print maker, eclipse glasses and more! The solar eclipse reaches its peak at 3:09 p.m. in Chapel Hill.

Crochet Frogs in the Libraries

The UNC Crochet Frogger spreads joy across Carolina’s campus by creating handmade crochet frogs for students to find. The University Libraries is excited to team up for National Library Week, with hidden crochet frogs in libraries across campus. Check out @crochetfrogsunc and @UNCLibrary on Instagram for more details during the week.

Arts Everywhere Day

Arts Everywhere Day takes place on Friday, April 12. The day uplifts the arts across campus, including at the Libraries! We’ll be celebrating both National Library Week and Arts Everywhere Day with two special programs:

Sloane Art Library will host a blackout poetry zine-making program from 2 to 4 p.m. Small booklets made from pages cut out of old magazines and art supplies will be provided to create new artworks of your own. For inspiration, Art Library staff will share examples from their collection of artists’ books and zines. Staff will also be available to help guide and encourage you in creating your own work.

Library workers will also be tabling in front of Davis Library from 1 to 3 p.m. with the button maker! They’ll hand out some of our special National Library Week buttons and stickers to those who stop by.
