Access Special Collections in Spring 2021

January 5, 2021

As part of the University Libraries’ Spring 2021 plan, Wilson Library is closed to the public. We have expanded on the remote services we have provided since March with limited staff on-site to support remote reference and instruction services and to digitize materials for our users.

Details about our suite of services and an FAQ for the Spring 2021 semester can be found on our Prepare for an Online Visit in Spring 2021 page.

Reference Assistance and Consultations

Wilson Library’s Research and Instruction Services librarians are available remotely to help with reference questions. Contact us to discuss your research.

Access to Special Collections Materials

Library users may request a limited number of free digital reference copies for research purposes through their user accounts. Higher-quality digital reproductions may also be requested through the same system. Note that copying services may not be available for some materials due to their condition or usage restrictions. If we are unable to meet your research needs through our digitization program, we may be able to assist you with our limited by-appointment research room service. Visit our Prepare for an Online Visit in Spring 2021 page for more information and contact wilsonlibrary@unc.edu with any questions.

Instruction

Instruction librarians will provide synchronous and asynchronous remote instruction with special collections materials through the Spring 2021 semester. Request an instruction session using this online form. For sample lessons, visit the Teaching with Special Collections page.

When you have questions, contact us or schedule a consultation with one of our librarians.
