Appointment: Librarian for Art and Art History

Alexandra (Sasha) Deyneka joined the University Libraries, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, as Librarian for Art and Art History

The University Libraries is pleased to announce the one-year appointment of Alexandra (Sasha) Deyneka as librarian for art and art history for the Sloane Art Library, effective March 30.

In this position, Sasha will serve as the primary library liaison to the art and art history department and to the Ackland Art Museum. She will provide specialized research and instructional services, develop core research collections and develop exhibitions and outreach programs. She will also collaborate closely with the interim head of the Sloane Art Library to support public services and daily operations of the Sloane Art library.

Sasha is a graduate student at UNC-Chapel Hill expecting to receive her M.S.L.S. from the School of Information and Library Science in August 2020. She holds an M.A. in art history from UNC-Chapel Hill and a B.A. in art history and international studies from the University of South Carolina, in Columbia.

Prior to this appointment, Sasha worked as a graduate research assistant at the Sloane Art Library and as a research and instructional services desk assistant at the R.B. House Undergraduate Library, both at Carolina.
