Criss Guy’s appointment as student success and engagement librarian is effective June 20, 2022.

The University Libraries is pleased to welcome Criss Guy as student success and engagement librarian, effective June 20, 2022. 

In this role, Guy will work with library and campus colleagues to foster student success with an emphasis on research and information literacy. He will manage and design inclusive programming and services to help connect all Carolina students with the resources of the University Libraries. He will also lead and refine existing programs such as the Long Night Against Procrastination, which helps students overcome obstacles to completing assignments; the Personal Librarian for Transfer Students program; and the Adulting 101 workshop series, which helps students develop practical skills in areas such as personal finance and consumer health research. 

Guy comes to Carolina from Warren Wilson College, where he served as instruction and research support librarian. Previously, he was a faculty member at the American Women’s College of Bay Path University. 

Guy holds an M.S. in Information Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and served as a Carolina Academic Library Associate at the University Libraries. His B.A. in English is from Amherst College.
