As a Carolina researcher, you can use Dimensions and Altmetric to track the impact of your work, seek collaborative opportunities and understand funding trends.

This fall, the Health Sciences Library and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research will offer training on how to use these tools.

Dimensions is a linked research knowledge system that brings together grants, publications, citations, alternative metrics, clinical trials, patents and policy documents into a single searchable platform. Altmetric can track mentions of research across various platforms, including news reports, social media discussions, references in policy, saves in reference managers, and citations on Wikipedia.

For a brief overview of Dimensions and Altmetric, you can watch this overview video via the UNC Health Sciences Library YouTube page
