The Research Hub helped provide a look into the low-wage people, industries, places and policies that shape North Carolina.
A group of students in a graduate seminar at UNC’s Department of City & Regional Planning collaborated with the NC Poverty Research Fund in order to inform and educate people about the state of low-wage work in North Carolina. The result? A compelling, data-rich website and resource.
The students received training from library staff on almost every aspect of their project. Data on the site can be visualized, filtered, downloaded and shared due to the use of tools like ArcGIS Online and Tableau.
