Hodding Carter Fellow, Wilson Special Collections Library

Wilson Special Collections Library is seeking a current graduate student to serve as a Hodding Carter Fellow. Based in the University Archives, the Fellow will work on public history projects focused on the history of UNC-Chapel Hill. Working closely with librarians and archivists in Wilson Library and other campus stakeholders, the Fellow will undertake work that seeks to increase awareness and understanding of the university history, especially among Carolina students, faculty, and staff. Potential projects may include researching and writing blog posts, planning for online and in-person outreach opportunities such as guided tours, exhibits, and performances. These projects will work in support of the University Libraries’ Reckoning Initiative by prioritizing the histories of marginalized and underrepresented groups on campus.

Requirements: The Hodding Carter Fellow must be a currently-enrolled graduate student at UNC-Chapel Hill able to work 15 hours a week during the library’s regular weekday hours (9:00am– 5:00pm). This position will be available January 1, 2022 through June 30, 2022.

Salary / Benefits: The salary for this 15-hour a week fellowship will be $1,254.50 per month.
