Communications / Social Media Student Assistant

The University Libraries’ communications office seeks a student assistant with an interest in social media, communications, and marketing for approximately 12 hours per week. You will be part of a small team that promotes library services and events, builds relationships with the Carolina community, and supports outreach efforts.
Primary duties will include helping to schedule social media posts, researching and drafting content, and brainstorming and implementing events and campaigns.
Other duties, on an as-needed basis, may include delivering print materials to campus libraries, providing event support including tabling, submitting event information to community calendars, writing and submitting radio public service announcements, and compiling event listings for our internal newsletter.
You must bring to this position demonstrated journalistic or PR writing skills; familiarity with social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook; an exacting attention to detail; a service orientation with excellent communication and interpersonal skills; curiosity and creativity; and ability to work as part of a team and to complete work on deadline.
