Pickup Service FAQ

You can obtain books and other materials from the University Libraries through our contactless pickup service.

  • Step 1: Find the item in the online catalog and use the “Request” button to ask us to retrieve it for you.
  • Step 2: When your request is ready, you will receive an email from the Library. Follow the instructions to select a pickup time. Please do not come pick up your request until you have received the confirmation email.

Who can use the pickup service?

Anyone with an ONYEN or a current borrower’s card may use the pickup service. You will need your OneCard or other proof of identification when you pick up your items.

What items are available for pickup?

Many items from UNC Libraries can be picked up through this service. Please note that some library items do not circulate, and some items may not be available. We will notify you if your request cannot be filled.

Where can I pick up my books?

Davis Library is located at 208 Raleigh Street.
Curbside pickup is available at Davis Library on Wednesdays only, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. You can request curbside pickup as part of the online book request process.

Can I return books at the same time I am picking up items?

You may return up to 10 books while picking up items. For returns larger than 10 items book drops are located near the exit of Davis Library, near the ATMs off of Raleigh Street, and at either entrance of the Health Sciences Library for your convenience.
