The University Libraries is pleased to announce the appointment of Adrienne Bell as Senior Conservator, effective December 18, 2023.
In this role, Bell will direct the Library’s conservation program, working with staff and stakeholders to set conservation priorities and manage conservation workflows. She will be responsible for the conservation treatment of books and paper-based special collections and will advise conservation staff on treatments for both general and special collections. Bell will also play a key role in planning for Library-wide projects with conservation components.
Bell was previously book conservator at the Folger Shakespeare Library. Before that, she was preservation librarian at Johns Hopkins University’s Sheridan Libraries. Bell earned a Master’s in Library and Information Sciences from the University of Pittsburgh and a B.A. in English and French at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
