Message from Vice Provost for University Libraries and University Librarian María R. Estorino:
We are heartbroken at the death of Dr. Zijie Yan on Monday and send our sincere condolences to his family. And we share in the shock and grief of our campus as the promise of a new academic year was shattered by this act of violence and the terrifying hours that accompanied it.
As we mourn and move forward together, the University Libraries is making space for our Tar Heel community. Today, Wilson Library will be open until 5 p.m. – please stop by if you need a place to study or just a change of scenery. Tomorrow, most campus libraries will resume normal hours. At this difficult time, please know we are here for you.
Wilson Library is open as a study space today (August 30) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Therapy dogs will be at Davis Library tomorrow (August 31) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
