Library participates in University “Postcards from the Pandemic” project

The University Libraries is participating in “I Was Here: Postcards from the Pandemic,” a project that aims to highlight, recognize and honor the hardworking staff of the University by providing space for processing through artistic expression.

Carolina staff are invited to design, write, decorate or create a postcard in whatever manner they choose. Submitted postcards will be included in a special exhibit as part of Arts Everywhere Day on April 8, 2022. After the exhibit, postcards will be preserved in the University Archives.

The University Libraries will host pop-up events where art supplies and optional writing prompts will be provided:

Wilson Library, Special Collections Learning Center, room 504 just off the main lobby
Monday, March 21, 2022
11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Health Sciences Library, room 227
Thursday, March 24, 2022
11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Carolina staff who cannot make it to the pop-up workshops but still want to take part can pick up a take-home postcard kit at Wilson Library on Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Please use this sign-up form to request a kit in advance. Completed postcards can be returned to Wilson Library or sent by mail prior to April 1.
