Appointment: Assistant University archivist for outreach and engagement

Lolita Rowe will join the UNC-Chapel Hill University Libraries as assistant University archivist for outreach and engagement April 11, 2022.

The University Libraries is pleased to welcome Lolita Rowe as assistant University archivist for outreach and engagement, effective April 11, 2022.

In this role, Lolita will help lead the Library’s efforts to engage with students, faculty, alumni and researchers about the history of UNC-Chapel Hill. She will create and maintain digital exhibits and guides, plan and oversee programs and events, and share campus history through blog posts and social media. She will also play an important part in collection development by working with the University community to build a more robust and inclusive record of student life and to appraise and collect selected faculty papers.

Lolita comes to Carolina from Emory University, where she served community outreach archivist at the Stuart A. Rose Manuscript, Archives, and Rare Book Library. Previously, she was reference and outreach coordinator at UNC Charlotte’s J. Murrey Atkins Library.

Lolita holds an M.S. in Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina and a B.S. in Biology from Winthrop University.
