The University Libraries announces the appointment of Jamie McGarty as library software applications developer, effective June 21.
In this position, Jamie will design, implement, test and support software projects at all stages of their lifecycles; evaluate advanced technologies and services for use by the UNC-Chapel Hill community; and support technology and infrastructure for University Libraries services and collections. He will develop software to extract, transform, load and repurpose Library data using various programming languages and other systems.
Additionally, he will work with stakeholder staff to support automation and workflows to generate efficiencies, reduce or remove barriers and improve outcomes within the University Libraries and with campus partners.
Prior to this appointment, Jamie was library data specialist at the University Libraries at UNC-Chapel Hill.
Jamie holds a B.A. in English from UNC-Chapel Hill.
