Joanneke Elliott joined the University Libraries, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, as African studies and West European studies librarian

The University Libraries is pleased to announce the appointment of Joanneke Elliott as African studies and West European studies librarian, effective November 4.

Joanneke will support these and related subject areas by providing research consultations, instruction, course development, and collection development services. She will work closely with campus and external partners, including Carolina’s Center for European Studies, Carolina’s African Studies Center, regional consortia, and national and international groups. She will also collaborate with the Duke University Libraries to build West European and African collections and to support the Carolina-Duke Graduate Program in German Studies.

Prior to this appointment, Joanneke was interim library liaison for German studies, French collections, and African studies at UNC-Chapel Hill.

Joanneke holds an M.A. in information and library studies from Robert Gordon University, in Aberdeen, Scotland; an M.A. in cultural anthropology from Wake Forest University, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and a B.A. in intercultural studies from Warren Wilson College, in Swannanoa, North Carolina.
