Three (More) Reasons to Give to the University Libraries for GiveUNC on April 9

April 8, 2019

April 9, 2019, is GiveUNC, an annual giving day for Tar Heels everywhere to show their love for Carolina. GiveUNC April 9, 2019 logo

There are plenty of good reasons to consider the University Libraries for your GiveUNC donation. Our student intern covered some of her top reasons last year.

This year, we are pleased to share two more motivations (three if you are a University employee):

  • $100 for $100+ gifts: Howard Holsenbeck ’63 will give an additional $100 for each of the first 100 donors who makes a gift of $100 or more to any University Libraries fund. That’s an incredibly generous potential total of $10,000.
  • $1,000 faculty and staff match: University Librarian Elaine Westbrooks will match gifts from Carolina faculty and staff to any University Libraries fund dollar for dollar, up to a total of $1,000.
  • $5,000 challenge: Neilson Brown ’67, chair of the Friends of the Library Board, will give $5,000 when we reach $5,000 in gifts to the University Libraries.

These supporters recognize the value that Carolina’s libraries bring to the University. They know that the Library sparks discovery and creativity in every area. And, together, they are willing to double or even triple your GiveUNC gift.

Whether you choose to give to your favorite library or to the “Unrestricted” fund that directs your gift to where it’s most needed, Tuesday, April 9, is a day to show what Carolina’s libraries mean to you. Let’s make GiveUNC a day to remember.
