The staff of the Wilson Library works closely with faculty and students at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to incorporate the rich resources of our five principal collections into classroom instruction and student projects. We encourage the use of the reading rooms and instruction spaces as learning laboratories for engaging with collection materials. We offer a broad range of instructional services, from displays of collection materials to course-based active learning engagements with primary and secondary sources in special collections.
For general consultation or information about planning and scheduling an instruction session, please email us several weeks in advance at email@example.com with the following information:

Day and time the class meets

The following Research and Instructional Services staff members have principal responsibility for providing collection-based instruction and may be contacted individually by email:
Wilson Library offers many rich opportunities for tours and field trips. With exhibit spaces on each floor, the library is home to about a dozen changing exhibitions each year, so there’s always something to see. For current exhibitions and upcoming events see the slideshow on Wilson’s home page.
Visitors can also view the architecturally impressive Grand Reading Room, a small exhibit room dedicated to Thomas Wolfe in the second-floor reading room, and permanent exhibits related to North Carolina history in the North Carolina Collection Gallery.
We welcome on- and off-campus groups to visit our building, our exhibitions, and our collections. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We regularly give talks and provide research assistance to a variety of off-campus groups, including classes from other universities, genealogical and local history societies, professional organizations, K-12 classes, summer camps and educational programs, and retirement communities. If you are interested in bringing a group to Wilson Library, please send us an email at email@example.com.
