SILS: About SILS

Based in the School of Information and Library Science in Manning Hall, the SILS Library’s collection contains over 100,000 print volumes, as well as ebooks, databases, and journals focused on the subject areas of library science, information science, and computer science. SILS master’s papers are available at the library and are also accessible online through the UNC-Chapel Hill Master’s Paper Collection in the Carolina Digital Repository.

Additionally, the SILS Library has the only full-service children’s collection on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus, which consists of the Juvenile Easy Reader collection (board books, picture books, big books) and the Juvenile collection (chapter books, Young Adult fiction, and nonfiction). The library also has a core collection of graphic novels and an extensive pop-up book collection.
