Special Projects Assistant, Media Resources Center

The Media Resources Center (MRC) in the Undergraduate Library is hiring a special projects assistant for the 2017/2018 school year. Under the supervision of the Media Resources Librarian and working directly with MRC Staff, this position will be responsible for a variety of data entry and database-searching projects. These projects include, but are not limited to, searching library catalogues to determine current holdings, creating spreadsheets with detailed information about media materials, keying in orders for new materials, and inventorying materials in the media collection.
This position requires 8-10 hours per week, with a preference for availability to work between 8am and 5pm. The special projects assistant will be able to select his/her own work schedule but will need to dependably adhere to that schedule.
- Ability to work independently after training
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Takes initiative to brainstorm and develop new projects
