The poster features the first illustration ever drawn of Frankenstein’s monster, taken from the frontispiece of the second edition of Frankenstein published in 1831. In the image, Frankenstein is fleeing in horror from his study as his monster awakes in the foreground. He is shown as a large muscular man with long black hair sprawled on the floor surrounded by skulls, bones, and books. The monster has a stricken look on his face.
