Position Description
The Withdrawals Coordinator & Projects Assistant works in the Database Management Section of the Resource Description & Management Department of Davis Library. This individual processes multiple formats of materials withdrawn from the library; provides assistance to the section head in data verification and quality control; assists with catalog record improvement; transfers library materials from one location to another; and assists with other library catalog-related projects as assigned. The position may also supervise a student assistant.

Minimum Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience in library services, office support, or related field; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Must be familiar with keyboarding and Microsoft applications; have the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, manage time and meet deadlines; have an aptitude for detailed work and strong analytical abilities; be able to work collaboratively in a team environment; demonstrate the flexibility and ability to shift priorities quickly; and have strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree; previous academic library and technical service experience, particularly in cataloging or acquisitions; bibliographic knowledge of at least one Western European language; experience with Millennium or another automated library system.

Special Physical/Mental Requirements
Ability to move 40 lb. boxes and loaded book cart.

Work Schedule
M-F 8:00AM – 5:00PM
