The Systems Administrator will be a key member of our Infrastructure Management Services team responsible for the design, implementation, and administration of IT infrastructure to support the enterprise. Primary focus for this role will be on system architecture and administration for business continuity and disaster recovery. Secondary focus will include Linux/VMware administration and assisting with the administration of SAN storage, networks, and information security. The successful candidate will have the desire and ability to quickly learn new technologies to solve business challenges. Working closely with team members, this person will deliver IT services that provide business value and align with industry best practices.
Work includes optimizing systems performance, documenting system architecture and processes, troubleshooting systems problems, and analyzing usage and systems load issues of a highly technical nature. Work may include interaction with customers, technicians, analysts, and specialists to troubleshoot problems related to the use of single and/or multiple information systems. May include creation, installation, and modification of software and hardware, testing, and documentation on a variety of platforms. May have final technical decision responsibility.
Overall priorities are set in discussion with supervisor and colleagues, but considerable independence is expected in the completion of assigned tasks, and initiative is expected in determining areas for critical progress.
Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in operations analysis and design, systems programming, or closely related area; or a Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of experience in operations analysis and design, systems programming or closely related area; or an Associate’s degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, or Networking Technology from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of experience in operations analysis and design, systems programming, or closely related area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
The Systems Administrator must have experience with VMware provisioning; an understanding of business continuity planning and execution; and knowledge of Linux systems administration. This person must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work well with a team in a fast paced, constantly changing environment and the ability to prioritize work, move between tasks and respond to escalated and emergency issues.

•Monitoring (SNMP, Nagios, OpsView)

•Microsoft technologies for identity management (Windows Server, Active Directory)
•Agile work management (JIRA, Confluence)
