Position Description
The Fiscal Services Department is seeking an Accounting Technician to join our accounting team. As part of this team, the main responsibilities of this position include: paying invoices for library materials purchases; preparing expense reconciliations for multiple acquisitions methods and multiple fund types; preparing deposits; clearing statements and working with vendors on problem resolution; and working with other department and library staff to complete special projects as assigned. Additional duties include but are not limited to tasks that maintain the workflow and keep the office operating efficiently and effectively.

Minimum Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in accounting work; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
The selected candidate must have the ability to work independently and in a team-oriented setting and be able to communicate effectively. The Accounting Technician must have a working knowledge of Excel and Word processing applications and demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.

Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s degree or higher in Business Administration or Accounting. PeopleSoft and Accounts payable experience.

Work Schedule
Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
