When Carolinas Integrated Sciences & Assessments (CISA) decided to create a website for key community stakeholders about health vulnerabilities and climate extremes, they knew they would need to grab attention with surprising statistics and eye-catching visualizations. Thanks to a data visualization librarian at the Research Hub and a tool called Tableau, the site now includes interactive visuals that allow users to explore climate information about counties across North Carolina, and drives home the importance of protecting vulnerable populations from climate extremes.
