The Making of MAESTRA: Women and the 1961 Cuban Literacy Campaign

Join us for a reception, a screening of MAESTRA, and a discussion with film director Catherine Murphy and UNC faculty and students. MAESTRA captures a powerful story of literacy and rural community by exploring the experiences of nine women who, as young girls, taught in the 1961 Cuban Literacy Campaign.
